  • Summary
Originally started as a website to support United States' veterans, Veterans Today has since become a website which is renown for its thoroughly researched, mostly long(er)-read articles on a wide variety of topics. These are so broad that you can sometimes find yourself questioning the sanity and direction of it all. In fact, should you pick out one or two of them when initially browsing their pages, you could find yourself let off by its subjects and tone. However, browse on and you'll just as easily encounter subjects of matter, most with a focus on international politics and diplomacy, or events with such an impact. Their 9/11 coverage for example runs into the dozens of articles, a lot of which running for dozens of pages. The reason for that wide range of subjects lies in Veterans Today Network's mantra to leave their editors wholly in charge of contents and presentation. Their articles are always extremely thorough and supported well by linked-to evidence. The sites' editors-in-chief consequently show knowledge and common sense although they might seem pedantic at times. Nevertheless, to get to grips with what is going on, it's a good go-to stop for background and insights.

    Joris De Draeck

Ever since the early 00's Joris De Draeck has had an extreme interest in international politics. Increasingly, he has grown weary of how the media portrays the conflicts and has become disappointed in how the backgrounds are left undisclosed and untouched upon.
